Father to Náin.
Grór was born in Ered Mithrin as the younger brother to Thrór and Frór. But the Dwarven-dwellings were under constantly attacks from the dragons multiplying and living in the Northern Waste and Withered Heath, and many of the Dwarves had fled south again.
3 Age.
T.A.2589. Grór decided to leave Ered Mithrin after his father and brother Frór was slain by a dragon.
T.A.2590. Grór goes to the Iron Hills and establish the Dwarven Kingdom there. His last brother Thrór returned to Erebor and the Lonely Mountain.
T.A.2665. Birth of Náin.
T.A.2790-2793. When the Dwarves gathered for the coming war upon the Orcs in Hithaeglir Grór deemed himself too old, instead his son Náin and grandson Dáin II., very young, went ahead and took part in the Battle of Nanduhirrion.
