Father to Thráin II.
Thrór was born in Ered Mithrin as the older brother to Frór and Grór.
3 Age.
T.A.2570. The dwellings of the Dwarves became known to the dragons living in the Northern Waste and they declared war upon the Dwarves. The Dwarves were under constantly harassing and plundering of their works and wealth from the dragons multiplying and living in Withered Heath, and many of the Dwarves had fled south again.
T.A.2589. This year was his father Dáin and brother Frór slain by a dragon.
T.A.2590. Thrór decided to leave Ered Mithrin. He went back to Erebor and the Lonely Mountain from where his great grand-father Thorin I. came. Thrór left with what wealth he could and the Arkenstone. Thrór`s other brother Grór went to the Iron Hills.
T.A.2590-2770. Thrór became the first King under the Mountain after the return and gathered great wealth and had the friendship of all those that dwelt near, the people of Dale, the Elves of Mirkwood and the beast and birds of the land.
T.A.2644. Thráin II born.
T.A.2770. Smaug the Golden heard rumors of his happiness and wealth and came upon him unawares and he descended upon the mountain and destroyed the region and entered the deep halls of the Dwarves in flames, slaying what stood against him, but Thrór escaped with his son Thráin II and Thorin II his grandson. But nothing had they time to bring with them and behind was left the Arkenstone and the Cup of Thrór.
T.A.2770-2790. Where Thrór and his kin go and what they do is uncertain. They probably goes north to those Dwarves of Durin`s line still living in Ered Mithrin and some of the refugees probably goes to the Iron Hills where Grór lives.
Thrór, now homeless more or less, wants to go to Moria to look upon, and if possible, reestablish the Dwarven-kingdom of old. He is strongly advised not to but in his heart is a yearning who cant be silenced and he sets out with one companion; Nár. But before he leaves he give his son Thráin a map of the Lonely Mountain and a key to a secret door.
T.A.2790. Thrór returned to the ancient dwellings of Moria where he was killed by Azog in the dark.
