Elmo

Born at the shores of Cuiviénien.

Younger brother to Elwë and Olwë.

Weddet to ?.

Father to Galadhon and grandfather to Celeborn. It is uncertain whether he went to Valinor or not.

It is told of Elmo that "he was beloved by his brother with whom he remained"

This statement gives some difficulties later in the geneologies and tales. It is about Celeborn told he fought against the Noldor in the Battle at Alqualondë in Aman and it was here in Aman he met Galadriel but at the contrary it is in other places said he met Galadriel in Doriath.

Celeborn is of the Third generation and some might say his father Galadhon went with the second host to Aman and then Celeborn was born there but that is impossible for we know that Fëanor was the first of the second generation and was born in V.Y.t.1169 and then Galadhon had to be born later and the second host of Elves departed in V.Y.t.1151.

If Elmo remained with his older brother Elwë / Thingol he or his son Galadhon cannot have been in Aman and thus can Celeborn not have been born there.

I can not find the final solution and i guess it is up to each of us to decide what to believe.
