Anglachel : Perhaps meaning Iron-roar or Iron-fast.
Anga=Iron. The adjective Cel in Sindarin can be used as Roar but most often in terms of water yet the thought and sound of a meteor coming down could give the idear of Cel as Roar applied to the sword due to its metals origin.
Reforged and renamed as Gurthang : Iron of Death.
Anglachel was one of the two swords, the other named Anguirel, made by Eöl the Dark-elf. The swords was made of iron which fell from the heaven as a blazing star. The blade of Anglachel shone and was able to cleave earthern iron as was it old wood.

Anglachel was given to Thingol in Doriath by Eöl as a payment for the permission to live in the forest of Nan-Elmoth.
F.A.487. Beleg Cúthalion choose Anglachel from the weaponry of Thingol in Doriath.
F.A.490. Beleg was slain by Turin in Taur-nu-Fuin by an accident and the sword lost its light and the blade became black and dull. Turin brought Anglachel to Nargothrond where it was reforged by the Noldor-smiths, and it again shone with a pale fire but the blade was ever black and Turin named it Gurthang.
F.A.499. Glaurung assails Brethil but he is waylaid by Turin and Hunthor and Glaurung is killed by Turin who pierced his belly with Anglachel / Gurthang. Later this year Turin cast himself upon the point of Gurthang. But Gurthang is also broken and when Turin is found by Mablung the shards are burried besides him.
