Bay of Eldamar

Bay of Elvenhome.

Established in the Valian Years of the Trees 1151.

The bay itself was always there, at least there is no saying it was made when the isle Tol Eressëa was anchored in the bay in the Valian years of the Trees 1149-1151. The name Bay of Eldamar it may be assumed was applied to the bay after the anchoring as it otherwise makes no sence.

Existed in the Valian Years of the Trees, First age and Second age. Was moved outside the world in the end of the Second age due to the downfall of Númenor.

See also Eldamar. The coast of the Shadowy Seas, an area of Belegaer, made a great bay where the cleft of Calacirya opened up the Pelóri. The bay was about 75 miles deep and 120 miles wide. The bay were lit with the out-flowing of the light of Aman and in the bay lay Tol Eressëa. After the Teleri had reached Aman the chief haven of theirs, Alqualondë, was build at the shores outside the Pelóri

V.Y.t. 1149-1151. Ulmo anchored the isle Tol Eressëa in the bay and Ossë rooted it to the foundation of the sea and the Bay of Eldamar carries the name rightfully.

V.Y.t 1162. Alqualondë build in the bay after the arrival of the Teleri with the aid of Finwë and the Noldor.

V.Y.t. 1496. Fëanor raided Alqualondë in the first kinslaying and sailed the ships of the Teleri north and out of the bay
