The Water of Awakening.

The lake upon which shores the Elves awoke ( Valian Years of the Trees 1050 ) beneath the starlit sky and where Oromë found them. Cuiviénen laid far off in Palisor in the Great Lands, north-east of the mid most point and it was a bay in the Inland Sea of Helcar where before the roots of the mountain Helkar and the lamp Illuin had been, and from where water flowed down from the Orocarni in the East. ( Mr.) The bay of Cuiviénen was lying in the Wild Wood.
