East of Anduin opposite the Mouth of Entwash, below the Falls of Rauros and the Eastern rocks of Emyn Muil was Nindalf, a huge wet meadow created by the water of Anduin and Entwash in the low land between Emyn Muil, Eastern Ered Nimrais and Northern Ephel Dúath. South-East of Nindalf began the land to rize into the hills of North Ithilien, East into the Noman-Lands but North-East the low wet land continued into the Dead Marshes.

Celeborn in his advice of the fellowship in Lórien said it was "a wide region of sluggish fen where the stream becomes tortuous and much divided."
