The great haven of Gondor in the province Lebennin near the mouth of Anduin, Ethir Anduin. From Pelargir to Minas Tirith ran the South Road. The building of Pelargir started in S.A.2350 during the reign of Tar-Vanimelde the third female ruler in Nùmenor and it became the faithfuls main haven in Middle-Earth. Earnil I. the twelfth King in Gondor repaired the now ancient haven of Pelargir and began to build a great navy there. During the war of the Kin-strife in Gondor Pelargir was besieged. because the the ship-folks favoured Castamir who was the Captain of the Ships. Pelargir was ravaged in 1634 by the Corsairs of Umbar lead by Angomaite and Sangahyanda; great-grandsons of Castamir. In 2758 there was renewed attacks on Gondor and Pelargir by the pirates of Umbar.
