Brother to Finrod, Orodreth, Aegnor and Galadriel.

Angrod were younger brother to Finrod and Orodreth but older to Aegnor and his sister Galadriel. He was thus the third son of Finarfin and Earwen.

Not much is told of Angrod before the arrival to Endor after the crossing of Helcaraxë. Yet a little is known. Angrod and Aegnor were close friends with Fingon, the son of Fingolfin and brother to their father, and in all they stood together.

V.Y.t.1495. When Fëanor came to Tirion and spoke harsh and fell words Finarfin sought to calm the temper of the Noldor and he tried to persuade them to ponder before deeds were done that could not be undone. But Angrod and his brother Aegnor was moved by the words of Fëanor yet he did not speak against his father

V.Y.t.1500. Arrival to Middle-Earth after the crossing of Helcaraxë.

First Age.

Angrod and his brother Aegnor held the North slopes Dorthonion as far as Aglon.

F.A.402. The Orcs tried to go through the Pass of Aglon but Angrod and Aegnor and the people of Bëor helped Maedhros and Maglor and they drew them back. F.A.455. Angrod died in this fell year when Morgoth broke the peace and unloosed his long-gathered strength and started the Battle of Sudden Flame during the night of mid-winter. The blow fell most heavily upon the sons of Finarfin and first of all upon Dorthonion closest to Angband.
