Idril of the Silver feet.

Idril Celebrindil daughter of Turgon and Elenwë of the Noldor House.

Born in Valinor V.Y.t. but no record of year. Died F.A.524.

Wedded to Tuor of the Second Children.

Mother to Eärendil.

Valian Year of the Trees.

V.Y.t.1496. Turgon, Elenwë and Idril and their people left Valinor under Fingolfin, after the host of Fëanor and his sons, who betrayed them when they were about to cross Helcaraxë, the Grinding Ice, in the ships stolen from the Teleri Elves in the First Kinslaying at Alqualondë. Turgon, his wife and daughter, had to cross Helcaraxë by foot and at the crossing was Elenwë his wife lost and he only had his daugther Idril left.

V.Y.t.1500 When they arrived in Middle-Earth after the crossing of the Grinding Ice the Sun arose for the first time. Turgon made his dwelling in Newrast and build Vinyamar by the shores of the sea at Mount Taras.

1 Age.

F.A.400. Maeglin arrived in Gondolin and fell in love with Idril but Idril did not return the love.

F.A.495. Tuor comes to Gondolin.

F.A.502. Idril weds Tuor.

F.A.503. From Idril and Tuor came the hope of the two kindred, their son Eärendil was born this year. Idril often sang at the craddle for Eärendil and upon her breast and in front of Eärendil`s eyes was the Ellesar gleaming green.

F.A.504 - 509. Idrils great power of piercing, further than even is the common of the Elves, with her thought the darkness of hearts of Man and Elves brought to her dark visions and fear of the future. Her misliking of Maeglin grew and this, her foreboding and mistrust in Maeglin her cuisin, secured the escape from the fall of Gondolin, she bade her husbond to start delwing a tunnel from their house which should run down benieth Tumladen towards Christhorn.

F.A.510. During the battle Maeglin assailed Idril and Eärendil in their house, trying to throw Eärendil over the wall and into the flames below but they were rescued by Tuor in the uttermost moment. Idril, Tuor and their son with many others escaped the sack of Gondolin and after long wanderings in Beleriand they came to the land Nan-Tathren were they met the refugives from Brithombar, Eglarest and Nargothrond but they moved on until at last they came to the Mouth of Sirion.

F.A.511. Gathering of those who escaped the Second Kinslaying and the sack of Doriath, the people of Elwing, Diors daughter at the Mouth of Sirion.

F.A.524. As Idrils husband grew older the sealonging in him grew too. Earame was built.

F.A.525. Tuor and Idril with Woronwë departs over sea. They sat sail into the West and never came back.
