Since Bell is not mentioned anywhere save in the genealogies I would expect her to be dead before the War of the Ring. Furthermore I believe all Bell and Hobson`s children were born, and grew up, in Bagshot Row 3 in The Hill in Hobbiton. due to the fact Hamfast joined his twenty-tree years older cousin, Holman Cotton, in Hobbiton as gardener. I have not been able to find any birth or death years for Bell

Bell appears in the first draft of the genealogy of the family of the Gardeners of the Hill but with the name Pearl Goodchild and also in the second draft.

In the third draft there is not shown any wife to Hamfast.

In the final, as published in LotR, she has changed name to Bell Goodchild.
