Bilbo

Bilbo Baggins.

Born in Third age Sr.22 of September 1290. Departed over the sea into the West in T.A.sr. 29 of September 1421.

Son of Bungo Baggins and Belladonna Took.

No wife or children but he adopted Frodo Baggins.

3 Age.

T.A.Sr.1341. ( T.A.2941.) Bilbo sets out from Bag End in Hobbiton, for his great adventure ( as told in the Red Book.) a clear morning in April, then being 51 years old. Dwalin, who went with Thorin II. and Bilbo and the rest of the Dwarves, upon this quest to the Lonely Mountain in Erebor, lends Bilbo a dark green cloak at the Green Dragon Inn.

Bilbo tries to steal William's pocket in Trollshaws but it reveals him and he his caught by Tom, William and Bert. After their rescue by Gandalf he finds the key that unlocks the door to their cave where Orcrist, Glamdring and Sting is found. After their adventure in Hithaeglir and Bilbo`s finding of the One Ring and the encounter with Gollum they are aided by Gwaihir and his people to Beorn and from here to the Gate of the Forest. In Mirkwood they are trapped by spiders and Thranduil but escapes to Esgaroth and finally they comes to the Lonely Mountain and Smaug. There Bilbo finds the Arkenstone and participates in the Battle of Five Armies before he returns towards the Shire.

T.A.Sr.1342. ( T.A.2942.) Bilbo returned to his home from his great quest on June the 22nd in his 52nd year. With him home he brought great treasures, the One Ring, the Elven Chainmail. and a marvelous story to tell.

T.A.Sr.1389. ( T.A.2989.) Bilbo adopted Frodo Baggins after his father, Drogo Baggins and mother Primula Brandybuck, had drowned in Brandywine river, at that time Bilbo was 99 years old.

T.A.Sr.1441. ( T.A.3001) Bilbo went to Imladris on his 111th years birthday and hands over the One Ring to Frodo.

T.A.Sr.1442. ( T.A.3002) Bilbo arrives in Imladris and becomes a guest in Elrond`s house.

Additional information.

In all the earlier tables Bilbo has been named Bilbo, his birthdate has remained the same and so has his father and mother. This is not a great surprise since Bilbo is a key figure and an early one..
