In the youth of Pharazôn he had great friendship with Amandil, the son of Númendil; Lord of Andúnië, of whom he had kinship through his fathers mother Inzilbêth.
S.A.3255. This year Ar-Pharazôn took Tar-Míriel to wife. Some say it was against her will but the tales are unclear. But whatever there happened Pharazôn seized the Scepter of Númenor.
S.A.3255-3319. When Pharazôn married Tar-Míriel, changed his queens name to Ar-Zimraphel, and took the Scepter of Númenor he became corrupted by his fathers counsel and Pharazôn and Amandil became estranged. Amandil, who were the leader of the Royal Party in Númenor though not openly, worked against the ban of the Valar and for the old traditions whereas Pharazôn followed the counsel of his father and that of his own will. Pharazôn deprived the Lords of Andúnië of their lordship due to their support of the old King, Tar-Palantir, and he commanded Amandil to dwell in Rómenna. Andúnië he took and made it to his chief harbor of his ships but he did not dismissed him from his Council or in any other way molest him.
Pharazôn had heard of Sauron from his captains and their journeys to Middle-Earth and how he called himself the greatest king. But Pharazôn desiring no less than the Kingship of all the world himself grew hot and angry and he resolved to challenge Sauron.
S.A.3256. He begins to prepares for the quest of Middle-earth.
S.A.3261. He sets sail for Middle-Earth with a great armada and at last he lands at Umbar. The might and splendor of that host was so great that Sauron`s own servants deserted him; and Sauron came himself on foot before Ar-Pharazôn and humbled himself and was taken as a hostage / prisoner to Númenor where he in 3 years managed to win the ear of Ar-Pharazôn, and persuade him to assail Valinor and bring Númenor to fall.
S.A.3264. Pharazôn has been convinced by the lies of Sauron.
S.A.3319 Pharazôn dies in the Downfall of Númenor. With him vanished the Scepter of Númenor.
Afterwards in the Third age, never the less, Pharazôn and his undoubtfull heroic action, though performed out of pride, was remembered and in the Third age 933 was a pillar; the Globe of Pharazôn, raised in Umbar.
