Second son of Isildur.

Brother to Elendur, Ciryon and Valandil.

No records of any wife or children.

S.A. 3434 - 3441. He fought in the War of the Last Alliance but was not with his father in the invasion of Mordor. Isildur had sent him and his brother Ciryon to man the fortress of Minas Ithil if Sauron should escape Gil-Galad and Elendil. ( Ut )

T.A.2 Aratan dies at Gladden Field in an attempt to rescue his brother Ciryon.
