Elendil became, as his father, a leading character of the Royal Party, the Elendili, in Númenor, struggling in secret, to reinstate the true wisdom and knowledge which Sauron after his arrival to Númenor had manage to twist and forfeit under the rule of Ar-Pharazon. He had inherited the house ( See Elendili-house.) where they all had lived with his father who in despair set out upon the journey to Aman in S.A.3316. Here now lived Elendil with his two sons and the memory of their mother who had died young. He was instructed by his father, before his departure to be ready and prepare, for himself and his kin, ships in the haven Rómenna. ready for immediate flight. That Elendil did; 4 ships for himself, 3 for Isildur and 2 for Anarion. Often Elendil would sail out to see if he could descry the sails of his fathers ship for he loved him dearly.

S.A.3319. At the Downfall of Númenor Elendil ( With him might have been Estelmo.) and his 4 ships were blown towards Middle-Earth and landed at Lindon in the Gulf of Lhun. Here he was received by Gil-galad and Cirdan. He brought with him from the fall of Númenor the seven Palantiri and a fruit of Nimloth the White Tree, the renowned sword of his Narsil and the Serpent Ring.

S.A.3320. This year Elendil established the Kingdom of Arnor in Eriador around lake Nenuial. Between Arnor and Lindon was a close friendship and much coming and goings between the realms. His sons Isildur and Anarion landed in the South of Middle-Earth at the Mouth of Anduin and founded the Kingdom of Gondor. At Emyn Beraid raised Gil-galad Elostirion for Elendil.

S.A.3429. This year arrives Isildur at Arnor; Sauron had assailed Gondor and taken Minas Ithil and Anarion were defending Osgiliath. Elendil, Isildur, Gil-Galad and Cirdan forms the Last Alliance to finally destroy Sauron

S.A.3430. The host of Lindon and Arnor marches to Imladris where they for the next three years are preparing for the coming war.

S.A.3434. Elendil and the host under command of Gil-Galad cross Hithaeglir and walks towards Dagorlad, gathering forces along the way.

S.A.3441. In the final battle at the flanks of Mount Orodruin Sauron is overthrown by Gil-Galad and Elendil but they are both slain too.

He was buried at the Halifirien Beacon which once had the name Amon Anwar and before the Rohirrims was given Calenardhon this place was the middle of the Gondorian realm, later he was removed to the Hallows of Minas Tirith. (Ut)

* Elendil planted some Lavaralda-trees in the garden of the house 84 years before his marriage and at that time he must at least have been a young man and manhood in Númenor came with the fifthy ( 50 ) birthday, so Marriage at about 109 - 132 years old. some tales tells about him talking to his son when the son is 44 years some time before the attack upon Valinor but after or during the building of the great armament which took place between 3310 - 3319. This will give an estimated birth date of Elendil around 3310 - ( 109+44 ) = 3155 and 3319 - ( 132+44 ) = 3147

I have used the year 3151 between those two 3155 - 3147 as the estimated birthdate.
