Meneldil

Second King of Gondor.

Son of Anarion.

Born in S.A.year 3318. Dead T.A.158.

Brother to three brothers and sisters but all unnamed.

3 Age.

Meneldil was the fourth son of Anarion and born as the last of the royal line in Númenor.

S.A.3441 / T.A.1. Isildur established Meneldil as King in Gondor after his father died in the siege of Barad-Dûr.

T.A.2. Meneldil was a man of courtesy but it is said he was well-pleased by the departure of Isildur and his sons and that he hoped the affairs in the North-Kingdom would keep them occupied for a long time. (As known they never returned but were slain at the disaster at Gladden Fields.)
