The Mountain in Aman upon which summit Manwë sat upon his throne. The summit of Taniquetil was raised above the highest peak of the Pelóri. Taniguetil was raised in the V.Y.3450. Taniquetil glorious to behold, loftiest of all mountains, clad in purest snow, and it looks from the Bay of Eldamar Southward across Avathar and Northward across the Bay of Eldamar and over all the Shadowy Seas even the sails of ships upon the waters of the great ocean and the westward havens in the Lands of Men coould be seen therefrom, albeit that distance is counted in unimagened leagues.
