The Pass of Cirith Ungol were in Ephel Dúath and ran from Mordor to Ithilien. The pass was the only way from west into Mordor. From Gondor and Ithilien ran the Morgul Road from the Crossroad ( 3/4 of the way along Morgulduin. ) east into a jagged cleft in the inner ridge over Morgai out into the Plateau of Gorgoroth. At the south-western side of the pass was Minas Morgul ( Minas Ithil.) and at the north-eastern side the Tower of Cirith Ungol. At the northern side of the mountains were the path to Torech Ungol.
