Fangorn Forest.
Entwood.
Fangorn Forest, one of the last remnants of the the Great Southern Forest once covering huge areas of the land masses of Middle-Earth. At that time the Fangorn Forest was called the East End. Lying East of Hithaeglir, South of Lothlórien and Parth Celebrant but North of the West-Emnet of Calenardhon. The size of Fangorn Forest East-West 100 Miles, North-South about the same. In the North ran Limlight as border between Fangorn Forest and Parth Celebrant and outside the East-eaves of Fangorn was the Wold of Calenardhon. In the South ran Entwash, passing Wellinghall, Derndingle and Treebeards Hill, from Hithaeglir to the South-East corner of Fangorn and then out of the forest into the plains of Calenardhon.
In Fangorn at the East side of the last slopes of Hithaeglir the ancient trees have taken refugee that once marched dark and proud over the wide lands, before even the Elves awoke in the World. These trees were the Ents, Trees inhabited with the spirits Yavanna long ago thought and asked for and now in Fangorn Forest lived the last of the Ents, save Old Man Willow in the Old Forest, who in the term of the meaning of a Ent, a treeherd, really can`t be called a such. But as Treebeard told none of the Ents in Fangorn had bad or rotten hearts. They had been wedded out a long time ago. Besides the Ents lived Huorns, Trees "not going Entish" and becoming treeherds but still alive and able to move.
Fangorn Forest was lying on lands who raised in long ever increasing slopes against the West and the Southern-end
of Hithaeglir. this ever increasing level of height of cause afflicted in what trees who were abundant where. Close
to the mountains and at the lower foothills grew mostly pinetrees scattered at the tumbled slopes, higher up were
birch and rowans and beyond them low dark pinewoods climbed the high slopes of the mountains. Down in the valleys
and towards the plains of Calenardhon East and South the trees oak, birch, beech where taller and thicker.
