One of the three mountains above Moria, the two others were Caradhras and Celebdil. Fanuidhol is the most Eastern of the peaks but lies more northern than Celebdil but not as much as Caradhras. Southeast of the outlayers of Fanuidhol is the land Lothlórien and South-West in the foothills and high slopes between Fanuidhol and Caradhras came the trail of the Redhorn Pass down the Dimrill Stair to Dimrill Dale, river Celebrant and lake Mirrormere.
