T.A.1856. Marhwini joined the Battle of the Plains where his father and Narmacil II. was slain, and it was he who after the battle, gathered the scattered Northmen and lead them into the vales of Anduin West of Mirkwood. Between Marhwini and the new King of Gondor, Calimethar, grew a friendship.

T.A.1899. When Gondor was ready to revenge its former King, Marhwini planned and assisted by a revolt which broke out among the enslaved Northmen in Rhovanion while the Wainriders were engaged in war with Gondor. The Éothéod, coming from the vales of Anduin and lead by Marhwini, assailed the Wainriders in the flank and rear while they were occupied with the Gondorian army and together they secured the victory. When the remaining Wainriders fled back they saw their basecamps were in flames and their slaves revolting.
