From the Earliest Tales

The earliest tales, those from the books of Lost Tales does give problems in the sense of trying to explain the tales in a straight line, ordering things, people and places. The tales were abandoned and never finished but many of names and places and plotlines were taken up in the later writings but changed place and significance and not only sometimes does all of the old tales fit into the later writing. If the old and new tales are seen as evolution it is interesting to follow them, but as a continuing story it becomes impossible to follow, never the less I have chosen to try to implement as much as I can even it can`t be done properly. Just an example : Vairë and Lindo in Mar-Vanwa-Tyalivéa upon Tol-Eressëa where Vairë is an Elf, later she in the stories becomes a Valiere, one of the Gods. That is just one of many cases and I have to let it stand as it is, not trying to explain it. If you want explanations you will have to read the books yourself.

The botttom line is : you can find large divergence's here and there, I have just tried to mark them out by writing ( From the earliest tales.) take it as it is, the Lost Tales are beautiful tales but they are way to contra-dictionary to set in the later evolved mythology though many things of the later plots can be seen from them.
