The necklace of Girion

The necklace of Girion consisted of emeralds green as the grass.

There is no tale of when or by whom the necklace was made.

3 Age.

T.A.2725-2770. Between these years Girion used the necklace as payment for a mail, made by the Dwarven smiths of the Lonely Mountain, to his child in pure silver with strength and power tripled that of steel.

T.A.2941. The necklace was found again by Thorin II and Bilbo among the treasure, including the Cup of Thrór and the Arkenstone, Smaug left behind when he was killed by Bard.
