Aman

Blessed Land.

Established in the Valian Years 3450-3500.

Existed in the Valian Years and Valian Years of the Trees, First age and Second age. Was moved outside the world in the end of the Second age due to the downfall of Númenor.

The land lying westernmost of all lands upon the borders of the world. This is the land of the Valar and home of the Powers of the West where they established their domain after Melkor had destroyed the two lamps Illuin and Ormal and the first home of the Valar Almaren.

The west-shores of Aman looked upon the Outer Sea that encircled the kingdom of Arda and beyond that was the Walls of the Night. The east-shores of Aman are the uttermost end of the Great Sea, the Belegaer. In the west is Aman guarded by the Pelóri-mountains raised by the Valar and above all the mountains of the Pelóri was the height which is called Taniquetil. Behind the Pelóri build the Valar their mansions and their domain in the region called Valinor.

The regions of Aman is the fields of Valinor with Valmar, the city of the Valar with their towers, gardens and mansions and here was the Halls of Oromë and House of Tulkas and Ossë`s quarters during conclaves, outside Valmar was the Court of Aulë and the Gardens of Lórien. Valmar must have been fenced because it had Golden Gates and before its western gate was the hallowed Ezellohar where Laurelin and Telperion came to growth but between the gate and Ezellohar was the Ring of Doom where the Valar gathered to council and judgment. South of Valmar was the Woods of Oromë, the Pastures of Yavanna and deep south the lair of Ungoliant. North were hills where Formenos was later build and east of Valmar was Taniquetil and the great canyon Calacirya with the later build town Tirion upon Túna. In the west was the Halls of Mandos and Halls of Nienna.

Outside the Pelóri is the dark and barren coast lands before the Shadowy Seas, the eastern coast land Avathar was more narrow than the northern coast land Araman but in between those two, where Calacirya opens up for the light of Aman is the Bay of Eldamar and the isle Tol Eressëa
