Morthond Vale.

The great vale where river Morthond has it offspring in Ered Nimrais in the province of Lamendon in Gondor. Here the Path of the Dead comes out on its course from Dimholt. The steep slopes of the vale were green and rich and many people lived there. The vale was deep and long as a bay carved in Ered Nimrais, at its widest, in the middle of the two ridges stands the Stone of Erech at the eastern side of Morthond. south-east was Tarlangs Neck. The Lord of the Vale was Duinhir the Tall.
