The Greenway.

The Greenway was the road that ran from outside Bree near the North Downs in Eriador North of Bree the road was called Old North Road. From the crossing with the Great East Road, it ran South up Andrath between the Barrow Downs ( 45 Miles ) and the South Downs, turning slightly to South-East and met the road coming from the West and Sarn Ford. The Greenway continued East until it met the river Greyflood at Tharbad. ( 180-190 Miles ) and crossed the river by Bridge of Tharbad. Upon the other side of the river the road continued but changed name to Old South Road. The Greenway was made by the Númenorians, The road may have been there before as an Elvish connection between Annúminas and the Grey Havens to Ost-en-Edhil but it`s unlikely, there would be 3 rivers to cross. The fastest way would be along the Great East Road to the Fords of Bruinen and from there by boat to Swanfleet. It is more likely it was in origin an exploration road for the Númenorians, later expanded to Fornost.
