Tower Hills.

The Tower Hills was lying in Eriador in the past realm of Arnor and in Arthedain after the dividing of Arnor. They were lying some 30 miles east from the Mithlond and the Gulf of Lhûn and 50 miles west of the Far Downs and the borders of the Shire in later days.

It is recorded that in the Third age year 3052 ( S.R. 1452 ) the area from the Far Downs to the Tower Hills is added to the Shire. Upon the hills were from ancient days three White Towers, where the highest tower was called Elostirion, and here was placed one of the Palantiri brought to Eriador by Elendil.

The area of the Tower Hills was north-south 55 miles and east-west nearly 20 miles. From the Tower Hills ran the Great East Road to the Far Downs

After the Tower Hills had been added to the Shire Elanor and Fastred in 3055 ( S.R.1455 ) and their child Elfstan moves to Undertowers at the Tower Hills and Fastred becomes Warden of Westmarch as the newly added area is called.
